Chalet Maya was built in 2006 in a traditional alpine style with urban chic interior design. The chalet is located in Argentiere, close to the largest ski area - Les Grand Montets and with a fabulous view of Mont Blanc from its extensive balcony. Other features include a large open plan living/dining area, roaring fire, outdoor hot tub on the deck, separate games room, flat screen TV/DVD, Wii and wireless internet access with PC. This a perfect chalet for bringing the whole family for a luxury family skiing holiday.

For Kids

  • Chalet Maya's owners pride themselves on being a luxury, child friendly Chalet operator. Having raised their own family in the Alps, they know what is needed to make your holiday a success and that happy children make happy parents!
  • A separate children’s corner with bean bags, selection of games, satellite TV, DVD.
  • A games room with table football and Xbox.
  • Children’s cots (you do need to take your own bedding), high chairs, child gates, as well as car booster seats.
  • The chalet can also arrange for nappies and formula milk to be bought in advance.
  • The chalet owners will also rent out for a small charge toddler and young children’s ski clothing.
  • The Skiing - Four of the five different ski areas in Chamonix are suitable for intermediates and one of the nicest beginner areas is Les Chosolets next to Les Grands Montets in Argentiere.
  • The slopes are only a 2 min drive from the Chalet Maya. La Vormaine is a larger beginners, area which is a 5 min drive up the valley next to Le Tour.
  • Child care services - Babies/Children aged 3 months to 3 years. The chalet owners can help organise a babysitter for evenings out as well as a day time nanny/babysitting service for an extra charge.
  • Children Aged 3 to 12 years- Panda Club is a 2 minute drive from the chalets; it provides excellent all day or half day ski school facilities. All the instructors speak English and there are generally a large percentage of English speaking children. They have a fun play park, indoor play area, one lift tow as well as Les Chosalets nursery slopes nearby. As an indication, 5 full days with skiing lessons and lunch costs about £200.
  • Babysitting - For kids of all ages (including infants), the chalet owners have a list of Tourist Office-approved and regulated nannies and babysitters.
  • For dinner the Chef can either offer that night’s menu to the children or will cook cuisine which appeals to children; spaghetti, home-made pizza, crispy chicken fillets with fried potatoes for example. These are all freshly prepared and served with greens. The chalet owners are happy to speak to parents on the phone and to receive the hit list of food your kids will eat so they have everything in!

For Adults

  • Guests at Chalet Maya will enjoy the famous Mountain Retreats service, which includes gourmet 4 course dinners, fine wines, complimentary bar at all times and transport provided by the Mountain Retreats people carrier. The chalet can also be booked as self-catered.
  • One return journey from and to Geneva airport transfer is included in the price and is a private transfer for your party.

Food

The great advantage of a chalet holiday is that you have the comforts of home and the service of a hotel. Each chalet has 3 staff to look after you and ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. They include a trained chef and two chalet hosts.
There is a choice of a full English breakfast or continental if preferred.
On your return from the ski slopes, mulled wine, tea and cakes are provided.
Dinner is a 4 course gourmet meal with drinks and canapés beforehand and is followed by chocolates and coffee.

The chalet's emphasis is on high quality ingredients, freshly prepared – taking the best from French and British cuisine.

The wines to accompany your meals are French, selected with great care, always vintage, and often discovered from surprising corners of France. The chalet owners feel that good wine represents a vital element of a great meal, and their wine has been chosen with that in mind.

Activities

Take a horse- drawn carriage ride – clamber aboard a finely dressed horse – snuggle amongst the blankets in the back of the sleigh and see the sights of Chamonix on a horse-drawn tour.

Try a helicopter flight. Relax and enjoy the stunning views as you fly over the snow-capped mountain tops, glaciers and alpine forests of the Haute Savoie.

Hot-air ballooning - the take-off point is in nearby Praz-sur-Arly, less than an hour's drive from Chamonix.

Husky sledding in Chamonix – Take charge of excitable husky dogs.

Ice-skating - Chamonix has an excellent ice rink – great for days you decide not to ski.

Swimming– There is a 25-metre long indoor pool at the Richard Bozon Sports Centre, which also features a separate children's pool with bubble jets and a water slide. For the summer months there is also an outdoor pool which is surrounded by sunbathing terraces and a children's splash pool.

Walking - It's very easy to discover the resort on foot or with pushchair!

Parc de Loisirs – This is open in the summer and winter with different attractions open, dependent on the season. The new attraction at the Chamonix Parc de Loisirs is a cross between a roller coaster and a sledge on a 1300m track featuring plenty of twists and turns.
