A Relaix and Chateaux hotel, luxury Chewton Glen, is a great place for a traditional family holiday. The hotel sits nestled amongst the beautiful scenery of the New Forest and just a short walk from the sea - with spectacular rooms and treehouses for you to choose from for your family stay. This exquisite hotel has thought of everything to ensure that all of the family have a memorable, luxurious, relaxing break.

 

For Kids

  • A Children's Menu is available throughout the day. A Lounge Menu is also available at an additional charge.
  • Children in the Spa. For health and safety reasons the minimum age for young people to use other areas of the spa, including the hydrotherapy pool, outdoor whirlpool, gym, saunas and steam room is 17 years. The hotel are able to offer a range of special children's treatments for their younger visitors and the full range of treatments and therapies can be enjoyed by guests aged 17 and over.
  • As well as the wonderful heated outdoor swimming pool, which is open to residents all day from April to September, children are also welcome to use the main indoor heated pool in the Chewton Glen Spa at certain times. Outdoor Swimming Pool (April to September) - All Day Indoor Swimming Pool Times Every Day: 9am to 10.30am and 4pm to 5.30pm. Children should be accompanied at all times.
  • Children's Mini Spa Treatments - Mini Manicure - £25.00 or pedicure (nail art and gems available) - £25.00
  • Every weekend and during the School Holidays there is the Hotel Kid's Club. This is complimentary for hotel guests in the morning and the afternoon, there is some supervised fun with painting and puzzles, train sets and story time, plus lots more activities to keep our youngest guests entertained whilst Mum and Dad have a chance to spend a little time in the spa, or just catching up. The Hotel Kid's Club also includes board games, toys, painting, children's videos, DVD's, Play station and much more. The hotel also run a wonderful children's activities programme each day in the hotel during the School Holidays for our younger guests to enjoy.
  • There are Lilliput-sized mallets on the croquet lawn, tiny racquets by the tennis courts, short golf clubs on the putting green and miniature bicycles in the cycle racks to make your luxury family getaway as enjoyable as it should be.
  • Welcome gifts, pint-sized bathrobes and small slippers ready and waiting in the room for little ones.
  • DVDs, Play Stations, Junior Scrabble and many other family-fun board games available from reception.

  • You will find the fabulous new Tree House for younger guests to explore. The tree house can be found in the woodland. A large beech tree grows up from the decked area and a bridge connects to the watch tower with a look-out fitted with telescopes to look for pirates or lost golfers.   • Traditional English afternoon tea at Chewton Glen is a firm favourite. Using the finest fresh local Hampshire produce for just £29.50 you will be able to enjoy a full English afternoon tea, served in either the hotel's lounges, or, if it is fine weather, on the Terrace.
  • The hotel can organise fully qualified and registered nannies and babysitters.
  • Award-winning Spa with over 60 different treatments, a 17 metre indoor swimming pool, one of Europe's largest hydrotherapy pools, sauna, steam and jacuzzi bath, fully equipped gym with personal raining and daily dance and aerobic classes including Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates.
  • You can now experience a trio of luxurious in-Treehouse spa treatments from the tranquil setting of your own treehouse suite. These unique treatments have been designed for guests who wish to experience complete peace and relaxation and are also suitable for couples.

Each of the 70 bedrooms and suites at Chewton Glen are decorated individually to provide the ultimate in luxury hotel accommodation on the South Coast of England. The sumptuous combination of antique furnishings, magnificent fabrics and modern and traditional textiles creates a scene of timeless elegance and comfort. Most accommodation at Chewton Glen has a terrace, balcony or private garden. Each bedroom is individually designed and decorated to give it a unique 'feel' and atmosphere.

Most rooms and suites can accommodate one extra bed or a cot comfortably from Silver room category upwards (extra bed additional charge of £40.00 per night applies for children from 6-12 years and for children aged 13-16 years a £60.00 per night charge applies. Children under 5 stay free).

For a family of four sharing the same suite, there are a number of options.

Suites are located on the ground floor with a private garden. They have a separate lounge area, which can accommodate two extra beds for children (extra bed additional charge of £40.00 per night applies for children from 6-12 years and for children aged 13-16 years a £60.00 per night charge applies. Children under 5 stay free).

Duplex Suites are the ideal family accommodation. They are split over two floors at our luxury family hotel, and can easily accommodate 2 children downstairs and 2 parents up-stairs (extra bed additional charge of £40.00 per night applies for children from 6-12 years and for children aged 13-16 years a £60.00 per night charge applies. Children under 5 stay free).

There are also some interconnecting room & suite options if you require separate rooms and suites for Adults and Children or you have a larger family gathering.

Food

Food and drink for Children under the age of 5 years is included complimentary during your stay. Breakfast and Lunch are served either in the main restaurant or in the comfort of your room or suite and the hotel of course have high chairs available for families. Supper if taken in the restaurant for children up to the age of 5 years is from 6pm to 7pm (last orders 7pm). If parents wish to dine with their young children at this stage please note the Lounge Menu is available. After 8pm, children of 5 years old and above may dine with their families at leisure in the main Vetiver restaurant.

Vetiver Restaurant has been voted one of the top 100 restaurants in the UK.

There is also Tinkers Bar open daily for Afternoon Tea and coffee and the style="color:#E73F41;"> Pool Bar in the Spa for lighter dining options

If you don't feel like dining in the main restaurant and just fancy something a little lighter the hotel are able to offer a variety of alternative all- day dining options. There is the Bar and Lounge - The Lounges are warm, relaxing and enjoy great views of the grounds. They are the ideal choice for a lighter or more informal meal. The Lounge Menu is available all day and features a wide range of freshly prepared Hampshire food, along with tea, coffee and drinks.

When the weather is fine you can enjoy the terrace with picturesque views over the croquet lawn and is also available for light lunches and afternoon tea.

Picnics - Why not enjoy one of the hotels picnics and spend a lazy afternoon relaxing in the grounds of the hotel or on the nearby beach.

Enjoy a few hours solving clues and discovering the history of this stunning area. There are also seasonal hunts that are themed around Easter, Halloween, Christmas and other key calendar dates.

Clay Pigeon Shooting - Chewton Glen has its own dedicated Clay Pigeon Shooting area within its picturesque grounds. Whether you’re a novice or experienced our qualified instructors will ensure that you have a fantastic experience. Only available on Saturdays. 

Laser Clays - Simulated clay pigeon shooting using electronically converted guns. Each hit is recorded on an interactive scoreboard, making this a fun and highly competitive game. 

Night-time Laser Clays - Laser Clays under the stars with fluorescent clays. Truly unique, the ideal pre/post dinner activity.
Apache Buggy Racing - The ultimate rush. 0-60mph in under 4 seconds, power slides and 750cc of unrestricted adrenaline - all in complete safety. Not suitable for under 12s. Only available on Saturdays.

Falconry - An introduction to the art, leading onto a hands on session flying the birds. The finale of this event is not to be missed with the falconer working the bird at close quarters to the lure.

Gun Dog Handling - Meet a range of breeds such as Labradors, Spaniels, Pointers and Retrievers. See the dogs up close and learn training methods from simple obedience to challenging retrieves. 

Duck Herding - Hilarious, engaging and truly unique. A lively gaggle of ducks and geese have been let loose and a well-trained border collie is awaiting instruction to guide them home!

Cycle Guide – The resident expert guides will be able to take you both on and off-road during your tour of the stunning New Forest National Park. For an added twist the hotel can add in a bike treasure hunt. 

Fly Fishing - Held at the professionally run Rockbourne Trout Fishery in Fordingbridge about 40 minutes from Chewton Glen. 1/2 day and full days available with or without instruction.

Giant Games - Bigger isn’t always better, but it is fun! We have a variety of giant games available including chess, jenga, snakes & ladders and connect 4. 

Chewton Glen is located just 15 minutes from Lymington, one of the most famous sailing ports on the Solent. All water based activities include professional skipper, fuel, wet weather clothing and safety equipment. 

RIB Powerboat Experience- Take a trip to the Needles, visit Cowes, Portsmouth, the beach at Sandbanks or Studland Bay. Capable of speeds in excess of 50mph these boats will see you jumping from wave to wave with the wind in your face. 

Sailing Experience - Fantastic activity for experienced sailors and novices alike. You can take part in sailing the boat with expert guidance from our skipper, or if you prefer, sit back and enjoy the views of the Solent. 

Luxury Motor Yacht Charter - The Fairline Squadron 55 - a superb combination of power and elegance. With a spacious fly bridge for summer days and a luxury interior for cooler weather this is the perfect choice for taking in the sights of the Solent.

Zap Cat Experience - These two-person catamarans pull 2-3G in a turn and have the power to weight ratio of a Ferrari. An adrenaline fuelled ride!

Come for a few days - there is so much to do.

The hotel can provide a lot of the baby paraphernalia - even baby swim nappies so don't pack a car full - check with the hotel first if it is not listed in the 'For the Kids' tab.
