The Abama Golf & Spa Resort is a fabulous family friendly hideaway. A ‘finca’ (meaning ranch) which can be found in  Guía de Isora, a peaceful, friendly and little known area of Tenerife. The Abama offers a secluded resort which features amazing volcanic landscapes, a wealth of vegetation with plenty of trees and palm trees for little ones to explore. Families visit this beautiful hotel year after year. It is not too far to fly, there is plenty to do on site for everyone in the family. It is the perfect destination as a luxury family friendly hotel which warmly welcomes children.

For Kids

  • The children's club - Club Abami has its own indoor space as well as an outside play area. This is such a well thought out kids club with eight individual zones including an astronomy zone and arts and crafts zone.
  • We love the planetarium where little ones can learn all about the stars and planets.  Kids will love the way the images are projected onto the ceiling - no doubt they'll be picking out the North Star before you are!
  • For your little divas there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in drama, acting or singing with performances and talent shows a big part of the kids club activities.
  • For the less flamboyant there are times when everyone has a bit of downtime and a movie may be put on or kids allowed to play on the Wii or Nintendo.
  • The complimentary Club Abami at Abama Golf & Spa Resort is open ervery day from 10am to midnight for children between the ages of four and twelve inclusive. Lunch and dinner can be provided for those attending the kids club for an additional cost.
  • Baby sitting available for younger children or those of you who would prefer to put your children to bed at their usual time and enjoy a meal out.
  • A huge array of baby products can be provided by the Abama Golf & Spa Resort so please just ask on booking. Whether you need a potty or bed guard it is likely the resort will have one on site. There may be a charge for this so do ask before hand.

For Adults

  • A holiday is not a holiday with a gorgeous spa treatment. Or so we think! The Abama Golf & Spa Resort's gorgeous spa provides a wide range of treatments, a Jacuzzi and hydrotherapy pool, thermal circuit and complete fitness center.
  • The Citadel is the centre of the Abama Golf & Spa Resort. Its here that you will find most of the bars and restaurants.
  • The resort is not near a town for you to walk to which may put some people off but there are ten dining options and 3 bars to choose from so plenty of choice. When you have little ones in tow it is actually quite nice sometimes to stay on the resort but still have plenty of options.
  • Of course there is a golf course for those of you who partake and with the kids club open such long hours a round of 18 holes is definitely possible.
  • As well as golf there is a Tennis Academy for anyone looking to improve their game.
  • This luxury resort is incredibly child friendly and one thing we love about it the exclusive beach. It just feels that bit safer when you are keeping a constant eye out on the little ones.
  • With a choice of 7 Swimming pools + 2 natural pools there is always somewhere new to try splashing about it.
  • As all parents now sometimes the only option is an early night. The hotel offers 24 hour in-room dining so whether you want to feed the kids quickly or feed the kids early and put them to bed and enjoy a meal in the room there is always that option.

At this luxury family resort there are of course a choice of room options. You can either opt for a room in the Citadel or push the boat out and opt for a villa.

In the Citadel there is a choice of a deluxe room or categories of suite accommodation.

Double Room and Junior Suites both have king size beds and large furnished terraces. The Suites have king size beds and a living area with lounge and dining room and again have large furnished terraces.
The Presidential Suite is two bedrooms with a spacious living area with lounge and separate dining room. The second bedroom has two single beds. The Presidential Suite also has a large balcony with jacuzzi.
The Royal Suite at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort as you would expect is pretty impressive. With a large terrace (of course with an outdoor Jacuzzi) there is also in addition to the Master bedroom an open plan living room and bar area and dining room. In addition to the lounge is a separate TV room with a 42” television.

The Imperial Penthouse has everything you would expect from such a luxurious room category, Jacuzzi? Check. Master bedroom? Check. Amazing audio systems? Check. If we had the choice this is where we would stay :)

At such a top class resort we were not surprised to find such luxurious villas. Hidden away they combine exclusive luxury with qonderful seclusion. If you are looking to get away from it all and everyone then this is the ultimate accommodation. Each row of villas has access to an exclusive pool and should you want to wander back into the real world transport to any other part of the complex are available at your request.

There are eight different restaurants at this luxury, child friendly hotel (two outside the resort, nearby), six bars and for any wine lovers an amazing wine cellar.

M.B is the signature Michelin Star restaurant. Children are allowed from 6 years and older.

Kabukialso has a Michelin star. This is the restaurant to try if you love sushi. This restaurant is overseen by the Spanish chef Ricardo Sanz, whose restaurants in Madrid, Kabuki and Kabuki Wellington are considered as the best Japanese restaurants in Europe. Children are allowed from 12 years old and older.

El Mirador probably has the best views from its terraces and specialises in locally sources seafood. The restaurant even has and its own secluded infinity pool. We love having a drink, watching the sunset with snacking on some poolside tapas. El Mirador is also opened for dinner and welcomes children of all ages.

Pampa Verona is always popular with the kids. Pizza and pasta is the order of the day along with steaks and meat.  All children are welcome.

La Veranda is where a buffet breakfast is served until 11 am every morning. Yum, yum.

Los Chozos is convenient for a pool side snack and is situated next to the main swimming pool.

Casa Club right at the heart of the golf course, surrounded by luxuriant palm groves, Casa Club is an idyllic spot for a light lunch between holes, or an early evening cocktail. The terrace offers stunning ocean views.

If you head for a day at the beach rather than the pool then theThe Beach Club will serve you well. Whether you opt for a snack at lunchtime or a sundowner at sunset its the perfect place to relax whilst the kids play on the beach.

Dave Thomas’ Abama Golf & Spa Resort's golf course rambles over 6,271 metres of ever-changing terrain, it features 22 lakes linked by impressive waterfalls and white-sand bunkers, and 25,000 palm trees.

Whether you’re a beginner looking for some basic training, a high-level pro wanting to take your game to the next level, or just a casual player planning a knock-about with friends Abama Golf & Spa Resort has the tennis facilities you will need.

Carved from the sheer volcanic rock of the cliff-face, and accessible by the hotel's own funicular (kids love this!), is Abama’s private beach.

The nine swimming pools are often the favourite feature of this luxury family friendly hotel. There is a new one for the kids to try out everyday.

Top Tips

Book in advance a baby sitter and enjoy dinner for two at the Michelin starred restaurant.
