Princesa Yaiza Resort Lanzarote - A review!

Princesa Yaiza, Lanzarote

Having just returned back from a fabulous luxury family holiday to the Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote with my little ones, I wanted to tell you a little about this gorgeous hotel. The Princess Yaiza is a 5 star luxury family hotel, offering fantastic service and facilities for families.

The rooms on offer are all suites, our family of four stayed in the family suite block. These rooms are near to the family pool and the family breakfast area. This is a great little addition as it means you can eat within a 1 minute walk from your room – which is great in the morning when the kids are up and ready for breakfast. Just so you are aware the main hotel is about 5 minutes walk away but this is through an underground tunnel which has fish tanks – pretty amazing and kids love it.

Also a huge bonus is the fact all the rooms all have a mini kitchenette and there is a supermarket attached to the family suites blocks. Great for storing snacks, drinks, milk etc.  The hotel welcomes you to bring food in and use the facilities within your room, which is pretty unusual for a five star hotel – but great for families with little ones!

We stayed on the bed and breakfast basis which was perfect for us as we do like to eat out on an evening.  The breakfast was fabulous and plenty of choice  - you can eat within 4 different buffet restaurants and they always had hot food available until 10.30.

Most days we spent around the family pool which was heated to a lovely temperature,  which meant hours of fun in the pool for the kid, which meant I could read my book and relax for a bit too. Bliss!

During the day we could eat at the pool bar or take a short stroll into Playa Blanca were the kids could indulge in ice cream and us adults in a cold beer!

One thing to bear in mind is the local beach isn’t owned by the hotel so charges apply for sun loungers and umbrellas but my kids just played and were happy with sitting on the sand.

For those who have active kids who want entertainment the main attraction for the Princesa Yaiza is the 10,000 square feet worth of kids club called KIKOLAND. My two daughters are 6 and 8 went a few times. They have a great set up – you can bring your kids as and when they liked and stay for however long. They do a cinema every day from 1pm so they can just chill away from the afternoon sun. The activities on offer are endless and it’s so welcoming too.

My two weren’t interested but they have a Soccer Club too for all those football fans plus tennis courts.

The hotel offers à la carte dining on an evening,  we went to different restaurants twice and felt that the price was not too bad  but for our family we preferred the buffet restaurants and the food on offer in the buffet was spectacular, plenty of choice and the kids like the independence of choosing bits and pieces of what they like.

We also ate out a few nights in Playa Blanca and there are loads of places to eat within 5-minutes’ walk of the hotel and you’ll find a good choice of dishes and prices.

In the evening the Princesa Yaiza offers the kids mini disco at 7.30pm till 8.30pm  (my two looked forward to this every night) then after this they have a quiz then the main evening entertainment starts at 9.30pm. Families are welcome to stay and watch and they even have staff on hand to dance with the kids and get involved if you have children that don’t like to just sit and watch.

We absolutely loved this hotel and everything about it and know from clients previously this is a firm favourite. It ticks all the boxes which we need at Luxury and Little Ones. A first class hotel with great facilities, fab service and very family friendly.
