Hidden Dragon’s private chef will prepare hearty breakfasts, teatime treats, evening feasts and irresistible petit fours to satisfy the hungriest of appetites, perfect for ski and summer guests alike. Due to the founders' Eurasian heritage, the catered cuisine embraces an Asian-fusion style, combining the Japanese philosophy of letting good ingredients speak for themselves and classical French cooking techniques.
For lunch, guests are encouraged to experience the fine alpine cuisine on offer in the plethora of excellent mountain restaurants throughout the 4 Valley region…. But if a guest prefers a luxury lunch curled up in front of the roaring fire or a picnic under a fir tree in the forest, Chef will of course be delighted to accommodate!
Please note, all meals can be adapted to any dietary requirement. Children’s and baby meals can also be catered for according to parent’s wishes. Menus will be discussed with guests pre-holiday.

Hidden Dragon's location in the canton of Valais will delight sun lovers as the region boasts over 300 days of sun a year (allegedly more than the French Riviera!). Les 4 Vallées is set in a unique micro-climate offering summer visitors balmy temperatures of 25 - 35°C with a cooling alpine breeze - an ideal temperature for sunbathing and la dolce far niente! Set in 2 acres of its own private grounds, the Hidden Dragon chalet offers plenty of outdoor space to relax and unwind.
YOGA, MEDITATION AND SPA
Hidden Dragon is equipped with a huge yoga deck overlooking the Rhone Valley - a truly idyllic spot to stretch, tone and meditate to bird song and the gentle hum of cow bells. Combined with the many spa facilities: hammam, sauna, hot tub, massage and beauty treatments are all on offer to ensure guests return home feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
For outdoor enthusiasts who seek a little more adventure, you will be spoilt for choice. Mountain biking on the hundreds of marked trails, hiking, rock-climbing, mountaineering, trekking along the ancient picturesque irrigation systems - "les bisses" - even escorted by a donkey!, paragliding, parachuting, tennis, archery, picnicking by glacier lakes, dipping into the natural thermal hot springs, rafting, canoeing, bungee-jumping, quad biking, fruit-picking, wine tours, world class golf in multiple local courses including Crans Montana.
For those in search of a little culture, Switzerland's oldest town, Sion, is a mere 13kms away and offers historians exciting medieval tales set in the Valère and Tourbillon Hills, ancient chateaux, churches and museums. The Valaisans have a multitude of local traditions and festivals which take place throughout the spring and summer months: the famous Combat des Reines (a natural cow fight) is a memorable and enchanting experience. From ancient hamlets, authentic alpine villages, and Roman towns like Martigny to the dazzling lake-side Montreux, made famous by the Jazz festival, those wishing to explore further than Veysonnaz have a truly diverse and rich region at their fingertips!
ACTIVITIES FOR NON-SKIERS
Although the 4 Vallees is notorious for its excellent and dynamic skiing, not everyone is in search of fresh tracks and white-knuckle freeriding every day! For those who would prefer non alpine skiing or boarding activities, you may like to consider some of the following snowy pastimes: snow-shoeing (raquettes), cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice-climbing, or simply walking along the ancient bisses?
It's not only the skiers who can enjoy the traditional alpine cuisine on offer in the many delicious and charming mountain restaurants. Due to the Hidden Dragon Chalet's convenient location near the base of the bubble lift, a mere 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk, it is easily possible for Hidden Dragon guests to obtain a pedestrian ski pass and meet their fellow party members on the piste. Hearty Swiss fare like fondue and raclette accompanied by a local Valaisan wine is all part of the glorious alpine experience at 2000+ metres altitude.
CHAMPAGNE LUNCH UNDER THE MATTERHORN OR HUSKY-SLEDDING
Hidden Dragon also caters to those who simply wish to enjoy the mountains for their beauty, serenity and amenities. The lodge owners can organise helicopter leisure trips for those who wish to see the alps by sky or for those who might prefer to sip champagne under the Matterhorn with a picnic lunch rather than actually ski the dramatic landscape! Perhaps an afternoon husky-sledding wrapped up in a blanket-adorned sleigh in Les Diablerets sounds more appealing than carving up the off-piste?
RELAXING AT THE LUXURY SKI CHALET
And if all that sounds like too much hard work, Hidden Dragon's multiple terraces, front and rear gardens, equipped with outdoor sofas and sun loungers create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to sunbathe, read, and relax with breathtaking scenery and mountain views. The spa facilities are always at hand and offer the non-skier a more leisurely and indulgent alternative to hitting the slopes.
EXCLUSIVE SKI EXPERIENCE TO RIDE ALONGSIDE A CHAMPION
Alex Coudray, the vice world champion freerider, can offer Hidden Dragon guests the unique and unforgettable ski experience to ride with this world class athlete in Les 4 Vallées' breathtaking backcountry.
An inspirational and memorable experience to accompany and learn from one of the best riders in the world and to join him in his favourite playground where he was born and raised. Based year round in Nendaz, there is no better companion than Alex to show you the secrets of the vast region and guide you around the limitless powder terrain where adrenalin rushes will be guaranteed!
YOGA WITH YOGOLOJI
Hidden Dragon turns into a Yoga Retreat for the partnering weeks with the dynamic Yogoloji. The private yoga retreat at Hidden Dragon offers clients intense yogic teaching while ensuring much needed restorative personal time.
There are 8 golf courses situated in the Valais canton of Switzerland. A luxury golf paradise that has become a favourite destination for international golfers, the Valais offers four 18-hole courses at Verbier, Sion, Crans-Montana and Loeche (Leuk) as well as five 9-hole courses at Sierre, Crans-Montana, Riederalp, Matterhorn and Source du Rhône. On the plain or in the high mountains, highly competitive or just for fun, flat or rolling terrain, each club offers a unique experience for the perfect golf holiday in Switzerland.
Although a delicious selection of complimentary wines will be offered nightly throughout the week, guests are also welcome and encouraged to handpick alternative bottles to accompany their evening feasts.
If there is something extra special you would like to drink on your holidays at Hidden Dragon, please let us know so that the lodge owners can have their wine suppliers fulfil your request.
